Dear PONI Community, After seven years as Director of PONI, I departed from CSIS on April 8 to take a senior government position. This transition is bittersweet for me – the last seven years at PONI have been an absolutely wonderful experience. PONI’s commitment to the cultivation of emerging thought leaders across the nuclear community as well as our big tent commitment is unique and special, and it has been my distinct honor to help grow PONI into the program it is today. Moreover, all of you have made this a rewarding and fun job. I cherish this community and the incredible PONI team we have developed. While I will miss the PONI Community, I am leaving it in great hands. On April 18, Kelsey Hartigan will join the PONI team as the new deputy director. Kelsey joins us from the Naval Postgraduate School and U.S. Special Operations Command, and has nearly 15 years of experience working nuclear issues. Kelsey will be a great addition to the team! In addition, the ISP leadership are working closely with the team throughout this transition period. In the meantime, our fabulous PONI team–Suzy, Joseph, Reja, Genevieve, Niko, and Jess–will be supporting the PONI events and programs. Thanks to them, all of our programming is going forward and not missing a beat. This includes: Capstone Conference on May 3 at Offutt Air Force Base. Register here by April 15. Mid-Career Cadre applications are open, please forward to potential candidates Summer Conference on June 28-29 at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM Please check the PONI website at https://nuclearnetwork.csis.org/ regularly for updates. Finally, CSIS has just announced the opening of a new PONI Director position. I encourage you to share this position widely within your networks. Please reach out to Suzy (sclaeys@csis.org) for any questions related to the program or next steps. Thank you again for making my time here at PONI so memorable and for your continued support of PONI. All the best,Rebecca
