In this episode of The Negotiator Files, Ambassador Lewis A. Dunn discusses his role in the 1985 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference. The conversation focused on U.S.-Soviet negotiations leading up to the conference, key debates at the 1985 and 1995 review conferences, and the legacy of the NPT in today’s nuclear landscape. Ambassador Dunn also shared stories from the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency (ACDA) and offered advice to the next generation of arms control experts. Ambassador Lewis A. Dunn was the U.S. ambassador to the 1985 NPT Review Conference. During the Reagan administration, he also served as Assistant Director at the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and as a Special Assistant for Non-Proliferation at the State Department.
