In our first Movie Club we are going to discuss the Dr. Strangelove one of the most popular movies in nuclear security pop-culture. The discussion will address the depiction of AI in the movie, the role of nuclear weapons movies in pop-culture, the lessons we learn, and much more. While we recommend you watch the movie ahead of time we will show clips of the movie during the event to help facilitate the discussion. After we watch a few scenes from the movie we will have remarks from PONI Mid-Career members Sylvia Mishra and Dr. James Johnson, both of whom have written on the movie. After their remarks we will open it up for discussion with the audience.
