As we approach the thirtieth anniversary of Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference, international efforts to reduce nuclear risks are in deep turmoil. Rising tensions among nuclear powers, technological developments, and doctrinal innovations are increasing the likelihood of nuclear use. The Iran deal faces the possibility of collapse, while the threat of conflict on the Korean Peninsula continues to grow. And a renewed push to eliminate nuclear weapons—embodied in the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons—is increasing tensions between the nuclear haves and have-nots.

We hope you will join over 800 experts and officials from more than forty-five countries and international organizations to debate—and explore solutions for—the most pressing challenges in nuclear deterrence, arms control, disarmament, nonproliferation, energy, and security.

Registration will open in October of 2018. Further information about the conference will be announced over the coming year.

Due to U.S. visa processing times across the world, Carnegie can write visa invitation letters requested through January 1, 2019  for those international participants planning to attend. It is the responsibility of the participant to complete the visa application process. Carnegie is not responsible for procuring any visas. Please contact Erin McLaughlin to request an invitation letter.

We are excited to announce the return of the Young Professionals track at the 2019 conference, including events on March 10. To receive updates about events for young professionals, click here.
